A survey on public opinion revealed that President Lee Jae-myung’s approval rating for his state affairs increased by 1 percentage point compared to the previous week, reaching 60% on the 21st.

A Gallup Korea survey, which questioned 1,000 adults aged 18 and above across the country from the 18th to the 20th, revealed that 60% of participants felt the president is “doing well.” The percentage who said he is “doing poorly” dropped by 2 points compared to the prior week, standing at 30%, while 10% had no clear opinion.
The factors contributing to positive assessments of the president’s job performance were primarily related to diplomacy, accounting for 34%, followed by economic and living conditions (14%), and a general perception of good performance (8%). The causes behind negative evaluations included issues of morality and avoiding personal trials (12%), the Daejang-dong incident and pressure to dismiss prosecution appeals (11%), and economic and living conditions (9%).

The Democratic Party of Korea received 43% support, the People Power Party had 24%, the Rebuilding Korea Party 3%, the Reform Party 3%, and the Progressive Party 1%. The Democratic Party saw a one percentage point increase from the prior week, whereas the People Power Party’s support stayed the same.
